The NBA season is almost here. While the majority of people think the NBA season is already over before it even begins (let’s just go ahead and crown the Golden State Warriors right now, right?). we still have to let the season play out because YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN, RIGHT?
What if the Warriors are involved in some kind of freak accident and everyone gets hurt?
Well, the league just opened up for all 29 other teams to win the whole thing.
Even though I personally believe it would take a plane wreck to take the Warriors down, there are some NBA teams out there that think they have the tools and weapons to do exactly that.
Are the San Antonio Spurs one of those teams? Maybe. If there’s one thing that’s been consistent in the NBA, it’s the San Antonio Spurs. Since the Spurs entered the league in 1973, they have missed the playoffs only FOUR TIMES! That’s absolutely insane guys. The NBA has teams that haven’t even sniffed the playoffs in 10+ years, but the Spurs are over here showing everyone how “easy” it is to do exactly that year-in and year-out. The Spurs will make the playoffs this year, but the question with this team is….how far can they go? Gregg Popovich is the best coach in the NBA, but he’s not a miracle worker. Kawhi Leonard is one of the best players in the NBA, but he’s not a miracle worker. He needs help and he doesn’t have a lot of it on this roster. Pau Gasol is a good player, but he’s getting up there in age and isn’t the same player he once was. LaMarcus Aldridge is a douchebag and he sucks. The Spurs don’t want him anymore, but no one else does either so he’s stuck in San Antonio for the time being. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili are both old enough to retire in Florida and fit right in with everyone else. And Rudy Gay? Please. Like my good friend Jeremy Lambert recently said….”what has Rudy Gay ever won?” The Spurs will make the playoffs this year guys. They just won’t make it very far.
Or maybe I’m just bullshitting you and I actually picked the Spurs to go 82-0?
