Those of us who live in the Portland-area are familiar with “The Godfather” Dwight Jaynes. He’s been covering the Portland Trail Blazers for as long as I can remember and has never been one to shy away from giving his opinion, regardless of how ridiculous it is.
On Tuesday, someone brought up the fact that the Warriors currently have the rest of the NBA in “an all-out panic mode”. Jaynes saw this tweet and decided to fire one back by saying that’s simply not true and he thinks most teams know they have no chance right now and are “playing the long game” and hinted that the Blazers are one of those teams.
That was fine until Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard saw the tweet from Jaynes and a little back-and-forth ensued between the two:
So what do you think? Who’s right? Are Damian Lillard and the Trail Blazers playing the “long game” like Jaynes suggested or are they actually trying to compete with the Golden State Warriors right now? I guess we’ll find out when the NBA Draft starts tomorrow night.
