How Did I Do?:

Welp, it was fun while it lasted, wasn’t it?

My streak of predicting every single conference winner correctly hit a brick wall the very first second we entered the Power 5 conferences. That’s just my luck though. I can predict how every single crappy college team is going to do, but when it matters? I shit the bed. And yes, I’m talking entirely about my Florida State National Championship pick. Obviously I was extremely high on the Seminoles heading into this season. I honestly thought they looked like the best team on paper, but apparently I didn’t study Alabama’s roster close enough. Oh well, lesson learned. Depending on who comes back, the Seminoles might have one of the most experienced teams next season. Maybe I was just a year off?

As for the rest of the ACC? I wasn’t that bad actually. I was a little off on Clemson as I thought they would ride Florida State’s coat tails all season. That turned out to be the opposite as Clemson is making their second appearance in the College Football Playoff against Ohio State (I did pick Clemson to face Ohio State in a bowl game, so I got some points there!). Louisville? I absolutely nailed at 9-3. Obviously I knew Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals were going to come in and take the college football world by storm (insert eyeroll emoji). The Cardinals are likely losing half of their starters to graduation, so there’s no telling how this team will look next season, but Jackson is coming back for sure so there’s that.

As for the rest of the conference? I was pretty good. I nailed NC State’s record. I was only one game off of Miami, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Boston College, Syracuse, and Duke which is REALLY good all things considered.

The teams I whiffed on? Virginia Tech I thought would need a little more time under new head coach Justin Fuente, but they proved me wrong. I didn’t think Georgia Tech was that good on paper, but the Yellow Jackets were quietly one of the ACC’s best teams. And as for Virginia? Well, let’s not talk about that mess. I was seriously let down by Bronco Mendenhall and company. Consider that a lesson learned.
